BUYING AN EGG COULD BREAK THE BANK

The price of eggs will soar in Spain if exports to the United States are confirmed, with the president of the Association of Food and Drink Distributors of the Balearic Islands, Bartolomé Servera, warning: “We could end up paying one euro per egg.” The US is suffering serious supply problems because of avian flu and it could turn to Spanish farmers for help. The price of eggs has already risen in Spain and if massive export orders to the US are confirmed then it w ill rise even fur ther.
